Conference Hotel

hiltonThe 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum will be held at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel in Central Manchester. The Hotel is in the iconic 47 storey Beetham Tower (pictured right), the 11th tallest building in the UK. The Beetham Tower can be seen from all parts of Manchester and as a result the guest rooms and suites have stunning city views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Viewers of TV programmes filmed in Manchester, such as the new series of Cold Feet, will have seen regular glimpses of the Tower.

Accommodation

For delegates booking B&B hotel accommodation the bedrooms will be allocated on a first-booked-first-allocated basis. The Hilton Deansgate will be the first hotel to be allocated. When all rooms are allocated at the Hilton subsequent bookings will be allocated bedrooms at Innside Manchester and then at Jurys Inn. Innside and Jurys Inn are a very short walk away from the Hilton.

Transport & Travel

Manchester is very easy to get to from all over the UK. Whether you plan to drive, fly or travel by train, the Hilton and Innside Hotels are very accessible.

From Manchester Airport:  You can take the train from the Airport Station directly to Deansgate Station. Deansgate Station is a short walk from the hotels. Alternatively you can take a train to Manchester Piccadilly and change onto the Metrolink.

From Manchester Piccadilly Station: You can either take a train to Deansgate (usually go from Platform 14 at Piccadilly) or you can change onto the Metrolink tram system. The Metrolink Tram system has a station at Deansgate-Castlefield which is in-between the Hilton and Innside Hotels.

Driving: There is a large NCP carpark (Great Northern Warehouse) next to the Hilton Deansgate Hotel.

Thing to Do & See

If you arrive on the Sunday, are an early riser or have some time after the Conference there is plenty to do and see in Manchester. Salford Quays, home of Coronation Street, ITV Studios, BBC and Media City as well as The Lowry Outlet Shopping Centre, is a short metrolink ride away. The main shopping area is a short walk from the Hilton Hotel as well as a wide range of bars and restaurants. Castlefield and the Science Museum are across the road from the hotel.
