The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Job Title: R&D Manager
Passionate about Mental Health & Dementia research, Sarah strives to develop research active clinicians from any profession with recent focus on how to incorporate learning into clinical practice.
Starting her research career in 2007 in the Department of Psychological Medicine at Imperial College she has since worked within countless trusts and research networks across London, Essex and now Kent & Medway. Having worked to some degree on well over 150 National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) studies Sarah has gained a vast amount of knowledge in the set-up and delivery of research studies within the NHS.
Sarah, is now the trust’s first Research & Development Manager and strives to further embed research into the core business of the trust. She also works closely with the trust’s Expert by Experience Research group, with the aim to develop meaningful research engagement for patients.
With a BSc Psychology and MSc in Developmental Sciences, Sarah completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership awarded by the NHS Leadership collaborative in 2015. She was also awarded a Mental Health Associate Award by the CRN in 2015 for her significant contribution to the work of CRN: Mental Health.
Always looking for new ways to increase awareness and engagement in research and keen to work across organisations, Sarah is a fan of Twitter and the way it opens anything up to everyone. Coming together with Lee Tomlinson from the local community trust to develop the #ResearchALLofme project has been a great opportunity to further utilise this social media tool.
