Helen Cox completed her nursing training in 2007 and midwifery training in 2011 at Birmingham City University, and has since worked in different NHS Trusts and departments in both capacities. She continues in her maternity role working on a Midwifery Lead Unit for Walsall Manor NHS Trust.
Helen joined the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Birmingham Clinical Research Facility (CRF) in 2014 and is currently employed in a dual role as a research sister and Clinical Educator. Helen works on many studies of varying clinical speciality including GI in the CRF endoscopy suite, oncology and rare diseases such as cystinosis. She is actively involved in all aspects of research including set up, conduct, close down and archiving.
As a clinical educator, Helen organises and facilities staff training and support with further education within the CRF. Helen plays an active role in promoting research through interaction and education with local schools and work experience. As a Clinical Educator she liaises with other departments, Trusts and research networks representing the CRF and is an active member of UKCRF Network Education Workstream.
